Al Ula is an ancient city in the north-west of Saudi Arabia, within Madinah Province, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is among the country’s most visited destinations.
Its history runs deep: Al-Hijr, the Nabatean city carved into the sandstone cliffs, holds rock-cut tombs in Nabatean and Islamic styles. Around it stand mesmerising rock formations, and the old town below cliffs that form a natural fortress.
